A very merry Christmas....

So we've enjoyed a little more "early" Christmas. We opened another present this morning and enjoyed watching the sound of music. Reya has remained under the weather with some bad moments last night and today but hasn't had a fever since yesterday afternoon. Tomorrow we will enjoy more of Christmas with the rest of the Napier's. We couldn't ask for anything more.....
We wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Happy New 2011!

The wheel in the sky keeps on turning

Reya has a stinking cold!!  Her first.  Running nose and a cough.  As a new mom I'm not sure if it warrants a dr. visit..not that I could get an appointment this week or this year for that matter.  She isn't running a fever and right now seems herself.  Just slightly cranky when it comes to sleeping.  I've had to console her more tonight than most.  I hope  she feels better by Christmas, poor thing.

Baby it's cold outside...

  1. This weekend has started off great. Reya threw a ball for the first time to us and figured out how to bounce it on her own. It seems such a simple thing but what a big deal for her. She screamed with delight! She also (with some encouragement) decided it was time to open a present. I had decided that I wouldn't put any under the tree until a couple of days before Christmas so that Reya wouldn't get bored with them or try to open/destroy them before the big day. Anyway, uncle J and aunt Jme sent one and well.... "we" couldn't help ourselves!
So Merry Christmas early!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Reya was very happy to help mommy and daddy with Holiday decorating. We put up the tree and Reya helped with the ornaments. It seems that it actual is "The most wonderful time of the year!" Thank you Reya for making it all worth while.

It's Official!! We have a walker!

So I'm in the kitchen finishing up some steamed carrots and apples for tomorrow's Reya snacks.....AND B says quietly, "That's 8 steps in a row." with a huge smile on his face as Reya walks towards him in the middle of the living room floor!  She has been flying around her play yard for a month or more and would walk if you held her hands up but it was the real deal tonight! We are so proud we could pop!  I only wish I could have gotten a picture to post as well.  I know, there will be a next time.  There is also a little voice in the back of my head saying " You better glue the Christmas tree to the floor! and everything else for that matter....NOW!"  We love you Reya!

Oh Christmas Tree!

I am nervous about decorating this year for Reya.  We haven't had a tree in this house in almost 10 years. (with just the 2 of us for so many years it didn't seem worth it) It will be quite interesting to see what we come up with.  We have plenty of lights, but we'll be getting a new tree and all the rest!  I just want it to be so special for her, but it's not like she'll remember ...but we will.

First time ever I saw your face...

Reya had two new firsts tonight.  One thing that she really likes to do is hold B's comb.  While she was holding it, I motioned to her and said, " Comb your hair."  and she did.  Then she laughed.  It was adorable!  She also finally played with her push/car toy and pushed it across the room, then cried.  She was frustrated, because she was trying to carry the darn thing, and that just wasn't working out, which was just as adorable! It was a good night. It's too bad Reya wants to go to bed an hour early now. I love you baby girl!

It was a one eyed-one horned-flying purple people eater!

Good evening friends and family on this fine Hallows Even.   The Napier house is dark and quiet.  The little pumpkin is fast asleep and the furry goblins are barely stirring. Good night to all and to all a good night! ...wait..hmmm.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween

Dream sweet dreams for me

As B slowly puts together a car/walker...in hot pink no less, I struggler to stay awake at this late hour.  Sad but true.  Waking up at 5:45 a.m. five days a week is taking its tole.  I'm sure I will get used to it sooner that later.  Or maybe I'm turning into a bear ready to hibernate for of the winter.  Which ever the case may be this 36 year old mommy is ready for bed.  Reya is sound asleep and all I can think of is joining her.  I am looking forward to the weekend.  Haircuts are at the top of my 'to do' list!

Everybody's workin for the weekend...

So this weekend seemed particularly short.  I'm not even sure what happened to Saturday.  I guess it was because I wasn't feeling very well and did much of nothing.  In Reya news, she is getting her third tooth in and didn't have a great day today.  She did have intervals of smiles and giggles, especially for Daddy.  They have a really close relationship, if you didn't already know that.  She pretty much understands everything he says, and tries to emulate him as much as she can.  We were sitting around the living room and B just said the words to a song that plays on one of her toys and she immediately went over and played it for him.   We all smiled together in that moment.

The best is yet to come

So I saw a glimmer of Reya's walking abilities tonight.  As I sat in the play yard with her, as I do most every night, I stood up to make her last bottle before bed time and she stood up with me.  She grabbed my legs with her chubby little hands and took a step towards me.  I decided to take a step back, and she took a step forward towards me, again. We did this little dance one full turn around her play yard and she didn't miss a beat!  All the time she was looking down at our feet moving together. What a great way to end the day. Lately I find myself thinking that everyday is the best day ever!  Thank you Reya!

In the begining.....

This is a blog about our baby and the people that love her:
I have been thinking about creating this blog for well, about 18 months.  I just got re-inspired by a friend on Facebook and I would like to thank her for that. Today Reya just happens to be 9 months old.  I will post some new pictures soon.  For my new inspiration in life .... Reya, I celebrate you!
